in 1992 when she was just graduating from high school Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University, Anchorage in Alaska. Bossard's career began in 1999 with a job on the vessel F/V Sunset. The 65-foot vessel, which was a halibut fishing vessel, was transformed to a salmon tender by Murat Ariatn. The couple is a commercial fisherman for the past twenty years. Bossard and Aritan have been married since 1993 and are working together to stake their claim to their industry. Both of them are favor of conserving resources and optimizing profits. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood company, was established in 2007 by Bella Bossard (age 3), Andre Bossard (1 year old) and the Bossard's mother. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia after the birth of her two children. Her husband has a long experience in the industry of fish, which often keeps them separated from each other for a period of five or more months. It is during this time that they are focusing on their environmental and financial goals. Bossard along with Isabella and Andre (ages 10 and 12 respectively) are back each year, beginning in July of 2016, to Southeast Alaska for the summer catch of wild salmon.
